Much like how Season 7 brought with it the Ice King and his Trogs, Season 8 features Blackheart and his crew of buccaneer Fishsticks. As such, it should come as no surprise that Fortnite’s Week 1 Challenges for Season 8 are filled with pirate adventure.

One of Week 1’s most exciting pirate Challenges is to explore the new map and discover seven newly built pirate camps. These camps range from towering structures to stout forts built on ruins from previous seasons, so players discovering them on their own will be no easy feat.

The exact language of the Challenge is to “Visit All Pirate Camps” of which there are seven. All the player needs to do is get near to the camp’s location and the Challenge will count it as a visit. This can be done while dropping into seven different matches, or all in a single match if the player can survive that long and travel that fast. Once all seven camps are found, it will complete and players can move on to the next Week 1 Challenge.

Just in case the map itself isn’t specific enough, or if Fortnite players want to avoid using the map and would rather have some simpler directions, follow along below for some extra details. None of the camps are particularly difficult to find, so anyone who feels lost might have accidentally gone to the wrong location.

Southeast of Loot Lake - A fort-like structure with some fencing and smaller camps in the front. Blackheart’s flag waving at the top. West of Pleasant Park - A tall wooden structure with a gate in the front and Blackheart’s flag waving at the top. Northwest of Fatal Fields - A tower structure with a prick building used as its foundation. The cannon tower is painted yellow. Southwest of Tilted Towers - In the snow biome, this wooden structure stands out. Just one tree nearby and a pirate cannon at the top. South of Retail Row - In the desert biome, this pirate camp has two buildings, built on top of a red and blue building respectively. There’s fencing around the majority of the camp. Northwest of Lazy Lagoon -A small wooden fort build on top of a larger stone building, now in ruin. Southwest of the Volcano - A robust camp with a stone fort at its center and multiple cannons placed at the top.

Fortnite’s Weekly Challenges start each Thursday and run through the Wednesday of the week that follows. The pirate camp challenge started February 28 and will last through March 6, so Battle Pass participants best not wait too long to start the grind.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
