As seen in the tweet below, Epic Games states that Fortnite’s Port-a-Fortress has been taken out of the title for the time being so that the developer can “address degraded performance”. Unfortunately, though, the company didn’t provide an idea as to when players ought to expect the item’s return, but if it’s anything like the turnaround on re-implementing Shadow Stones, then the wait shouldn’t be that long.

For those unaware, Shadow Stones were disabled yesterday due to an undisclosed issue, and it only took Epic less than a day to pinpoint the problem, resolve it, and then bring them back into the game. Should the issue affecting Port-a-Fortresses be as easy to solve, then Fortnite fans could see the Legendary Utility item return to the title as soon as tomorrow. Of course, with each item having its own set of properties, it could take a lot longer for the Port-a-Fortress to be put back into rotation.

All things considered, it’s obvious that Epic Games remains dedicated to provide Fortnite players with the most polished experience possible, even if that means removing certain fan-favorite items for a short spell. Thankfully, though, from fresh map changes to the addition of pets, Fortnite Season 6 has plenty of fresh wares to keep folks entertained until the Port-a-Fortress makes a comeback.

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. An Android beta is currently underway.
