Epic Games’ ever-popular free-to-play battle royale title recently began its highly anticipated Chapter 3. The prior chapter, which ended with Season 8, was capped off by the finale event “The End.” The cinematic event saw the return of The Foundation - revealed to be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson - and flipped the Chapter 2 island over to reveal a new one for Fortnite Chapter 3.

How to Upgrade a Vehicle with Chonkers and Fill a Vehicle with Gas in Fortnite

The verbiage of this particular Fortnite quest is pretty clear, but the key to completing it is knowing exactly where to go. Far and away the best place to go is one of the new island’s many gas stations. There, players are highly likely to find both the Chonkers and the gas required to complete the quest.

Landing at any one of the marked locations below, players can grab Chonkers tires either as floor loot or by destroying a rack/pile of tires. To upgrade the vehicle, aim and throw the tires at the vehicle, which gives it monster truck-like wheels and suspension.

With the first part of the Fortnite quest complete, all players have to do is fill the vehicle with gas. This can be done by either parking the vehicle next to one of the gas station’s pumps, or by using one of the many gas cans found throughout the island. To fill a vehicle with gas in Fortnite, stand next to it with the gas source and aim it anywhere on the vehicle, which should fill up its fuel tank. Once players have completed the quest by upgrading and fueling up a vehicle, they can take it to jump through some flaming rings.

Although this quest tasks players with creating a tried-and-true mode of transportation, Fortnite Chapter 3 brings several new methods of mobility. Arguably the biggest change to movement, and Fortnite’s meta as a whole, comes in the form of the new sliding mechanic. Players can now hold the crouch button while running to go into a slide, which still allows for shooting and building. Chapter 3 also adds Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters, which are set to go live on December 11 at 10 am ET.

With a fresh set of weapons, locations, and various NPCs to discover around the island, players can utilize their ride to expedite their discovery of all that Fortnite Chapter 3 has to offer.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
