Earlier today, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed Fortnite Battle Royale’s Carbon Pack in the PlayStation Store, and it includes the Carbon Commando outfit, as well as the Carbon Pack back bling. Both of these items can be obtained for free by players with a valid subscription to PlayStation Plus.
Much like all of the other cosmetic items in the game, the objects found within the Carbon Pack can be used in the Battle Royale iteration or in Fortnite’s Creative Mode. What’s more is that the Carbon Commando skin and related wares should be available to equip onto a player’s avatar should they use a single account while taking advantage of Fortnite’s cross-play capabilities.
For those unaware, the Carbon Commando skin and Carbon Pack back bling aren’t the first instance of Epic Games teaming up with Sony to offer free Fortnite cosmetic items for subscribers of the PlayStation Plus online service. For instance, one featured an avatar with a blue-hued beanie, another decked a player out in futuristic garb, and a recent cosmetic called the “Prodigy” outfit gave players an argyle sweater and black-rimmed glasses and a calculator back bling.
All things considered, the free Carbon Commando skin and Carbon Pack back bling will likely act as a decent incentive to at least get PS4 players to log into Fortnite just to claim the item. Whether or not they stick around to actually engage with the title and play a few matches, though, is a completely different story altogether.
Fortnite is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
