The Fortnite Season 5, Week 6 challenges are now live, and players are scrambling to complete them before next Thursday rolls around and the challenges refresh once more. There are seven challenges in total (three free challenges and four for Battle Pass owners) with 50 Battle Stars up for grabs in total. There’s also a 6K XP bonus for players who complete all seven challenges.
Deal Headshot Damage to Opponents (0/500)
The first challenge on the list is fairly straightforward, as one will just need to deal 500 points of headshot damage against other players. Fortnite is currently running a Limited Time Mode called Sniper Shootout, and this, along with the new Heavy Sniper Rifle weapon, should help make this challenge a little easier.
Harvest Building Resources With a Pickaxe (0/3,000)
The best approach for this challenge is to try and aim for a secluded or out of the way area on the map once jumping out of the Battle Bus. By aiming for a spot away from other players on the map, players will be able to go H.A.M. on Fortnite’s destructible environments, without being bothered by other players trying to take you out.
Search Where the Stone Heads Are Looking (HARD)
The Fortnite map features several giant Stone Heads facing in different directions. For this challenge, players have to visit the place where their lines of sight intersect. Though, visiting the Stone Heads and figuring this out for oneself isn’t actually mandatory.
To quickly complete the “where the Stone Heads are looking” challenge, players just need to visit a grassy mountain southwest of Salty Springs which is south of Dusty Divot (it’s marked on the diagram above). Players will find a free Battle Star at the location and will bag themselves 10 Battle Stars for completing the challenge.
Search Chests in Lonely Lodge 0/7
This week of Fortnite challenges, like many others before it, includes a search chest quest. Chests will spawn randomly around the location and players need only locate them and loot them to get a step closer towards completing the challenge.
It’s important to note that many players are expected to be hitting up Lonely Lodge over the next few days, because everyone will want to complete this challenge. Of course, this also means that there are plenty of targets to help complete other challenges such as the headshot and minigun/LMG challenges.
Completed Timed Trials 0/5
Dotted across the map, players will find timer icons that, when activated, will begin a time trial. These trials require players to hit all of the time trial icons before the time runs out. Failure to successfully complete the trial in the allotted time just means that it will reset and players will have to reactive the icon to do it over again.
The best plan of action is to build before attempting to complete it. Trying to build and jump up to collect the icons will prove unsuccessful so a proactive approach is best. The locations of the timed trials are highlighted on the map above (the pink rings represent timed trial locations).
Minigun or Light Machine Gun Eliminations 0/3 (HARD)
Another tough challenge, this one requires Fortnite players to use a minigun or a light machine gun to take out opponents. One suggestion is to team up with other players in Duos or Squads, downing an opponent with another weapon (of one’s choice) before dealing the final blow(s) with a minigun or LMG. Trying to obliterate an opponent completely using just the minigun or LMG may be far too time-consuming.
Eliminate Opponents in Tilted Towers 0/3 (HARD)
Tilted Towers is one of the most frequented and talked-about locations on the Fortnite map. While this means that players will have plenty of opponents to try to perform this challenge on, it also means that they will face a massive amount of competition. Players may want to take a squad or a Duos partner for backup on this one.
Fortnite is now available on iOS, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. An Android beta is also taking place.
title: “Fortnite How To Complete All Season 5 Week 6 Challenges” ShowToc: true date: “2022-12-19” author: “Joshua Pilkington”
This guide is here to help guide players through Fortnite’s latest series of challenges, almost all of which have to do with water. While these are relatively easy to accomplish, there’s also the Legendary Quest, which requires players to get increasing numbers of headshots at each stage. This can be a bit tricky, but thanks to some recent additions to the game, it may not be as hard as it could be.

Getting Headshots
The minimum level of the legendary quest requires 20 headshots, with 20 more at each level, up to 100 maximum. It’s recommended that players head into team rumble, since this has the greatest player density and the most opportunities for headshots. While sniper rifles are the obvious choice, keep in mind that assault rifles and SMGs fire more bullets, which all have the opportunity to headshot. Shotguns too can rack up many headshots quickly. It’s also worth firing point blank at initially non-violent NPCs, or taking pot shots at IO Guards.
Blow Up Fishing Holes: Sharky Shell
The first Epic challenge is blowing up fishing holes at Sharky Shell. There are two other viable locations, but Sharky Shell has something important: motorboats. These come equipped with grenade launchers, and there are plenty of fishing holes around the Shell, so go nuts.
Blowing Up Fishing Holes: Lazy Lake Island
Once again there are three locations to choose from, but Lazy Lake Island is probably the best. It’s a big area with motorboats (with grenade launchers) and lots of fishing holes. Head to Lazy Lake Island and blow up three fishing holes to complete the challenge.
Signal the Coral Buddies
This one’s a bit esoteric. In order to signal the Coral Buddies, head to Coral Castle. There are three huge clams hanging out around the north and south areas of Coral Castle. Approach each and perform the Signal command to complete the challenge.
Catch Fish
These next few can all be done together, if players are savvy. The first is to catch seven fish, which can be done at either of the abovementioned locations (provided there are some fishing holes left).
Destroy Fishing Rod Barrels
If a player has caught seven fish, odds are there is at least one fishing rod barrel nearby. Hunt these down at locations with fishing holes (six prime examples are mentioned in the epic quest descriptions for blowing up fishing holes) and destroy them. Destroying seven in total will do it.
Destroy Boats
Please note that this does not include motorboats. Head to the bait shop at Craggy Cliffs to find seven boats, exactly the number players must destroy. There are others nearby, just in case. All of these are canoes and are nowhere near water, so have fun.
Destroy Motorboats
These can be found all over the map, but one secluded doc at the Western edge of the map makes for a great spot. It has all three motorboats that must be destroyed, but it’s recommended to bring a gun to do so faster.
Many have noted that these quests are much easier than previous weeks. Perhaps, in addition to handing out free Samsung tablets to influencers to bring Fortnite to more people, Epic is trying to make the game more beginner-friendly to draw in new players. Or maybe the theme of water, threes, and sevens just felt right this week.
Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
