For players who don’t mind spoilers, here’s a helpful visual guide, courtesy of the Fortnite Reddit community, that points out exactly where to complete each of the new tasks…
Most of the challenges this time around are pretty self explanatory. Knowing where to find the locations can be tricky, but the tasks themselves don’t require a lot of extra homework. Just be sure to be ready for a fight when you arrive in Shifty Shafts.
Players who head to Lazy Links right now will find that tons of players are trying to complete the golfing challenging and doing a very poor job protecting themselves. That means that this is the perfect location for to secure three kills in one match. Be sure to complete that challenge quickly, before everyone finishes their golfing.
Until next week, good luck out there, players!
Fortnite is out now in early access for iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

title: “Fortnite How To Complete All Season 5 Week 5 Challenges” ShowToc: true date: “2022-12-19” author: “Robin Fulghum”
The challenges for Week 5 of Fortnite Season 5 include, among others, finding an experience point coin, digging up gnomes, and the usual damage infliction assignment. For players who want to get these tasks knocked out quickly so they can return to the fight, it may be helpful to get some advice.

Find the Buried Blue Coin in Retail Row
The first challenge is for players to find the buried blue coin in Fortnite’s Retail Row. The quickest way to knock out this task is to land in Retail Row at the start of the game. The coin is buried in the backyard of the yellow house in the southwest corner of Retail Row, and can be identified by a mound of dirt that appears to have blue electricity emanating from it. Once located, players must simply attack the mound of dirt and the blue XP coin will appear.
Deal Damage While Crouched
This challenge is a little more straightforward than some of the others, as players just need to deal 500 damage while crouched. To do so, players must arm themselves, find a populated area, crouch, and start taking shots at their opponents. The relatively high damage required may prolong the task, but players who know how to deal damage with Fortnite’s Lever Action Rifle should be able to make short work of it. Additionally, if players choose a game mode like Team Rumble, they’ll be able to respawn if killed, which will make it easier to complete.
Dig Up Gnomes In Fort Crumpet and Pleasant Park
To complete this challenge, players must find and dig up gnomes from Fortnite’s Fort Crumpet and Pleasant Park; there are two in each location. Fort Crumpet is not marked on the map, but the large, stone structure should be easy to find on a hill northwest of Sweaty Sands. Once players arrive, they must enter through the east entrance, turn right, and walk straight towards the wall, where they should see the telltale glowing mound of the first gnome. The second can be found next to another wall, under a small, wooden bridge in the western end of the fort.
Pleasant Park is located to the northeast of Fort Crumpet and Sweaty Sands. Players must travel to the center of the area and look for the first mound near a small tree. From there, players must travel due north and be on the lookout for a brick house with candy cane decorations beside the front door; the second gnome can be found in the backyard.
Search Ammo Crates and Chests
Another unambiguous task, all that players need to do to complete this challenge is to find and open a total of 15 ammo crates and chests, in any combination. One bountiful location is the trailer park/drive-in theater area due west of Colossal Coliseum (which may be the subject of a huge upcoming change to Fortnite’s map), where players should be able to find all the containers needed to finish the challenge quickly.
Collect Gnomes In Holly Hedges and Fort Crumpet
For this challenge, players must find and collect gnomes from Fortnite’s Fort Crumpet and Holly Hedges. The first gnome in Fort Crumpet is located behind a cash register in the gift shop to the right after entering the fort. The second can be found behind the stairs inside the tall structure in the middle of the fort.
Holly Hedges is south of Fort Crumpet. When players arrive, they must seek out the Christmas tree at the town’s north edge; the first gnome is located in the corner beside the gate and a planter. Exiting the Christmas tree area, players should see a building across the street that has flowers spray-painted on the wall - this is the town nursery, and the location of the second Holly Hedges gnome. On the other side of the building, opposite to the one facing the Christmas tree, there are wooden walls and giant potted plants; the second gnome can be found among these potted plants.
Bury Gnomes in Pleasant Park or Retail Row
The final challenge tasks players with burying two gnomes in either Pleasant Park or Retail Row. The first burial spot can be found beside a tree to the east of Fortnite’s Pleasant Park soccer field near the center of the park. Players must simply walk up to the burial mound and hold the ‘Use’ button/key. To the northwest of the first burial mound, players must find a large, brick house with Christmas decorations; the second burial mound is beneath the tree in the front yard.
In Retail Row, the first burial location can be found beside a tree in the backyard of the first blue house when entering the town from the west, while the second can be found in a grassy area behind the yellow house to the south of the town.
With these seven challenges completed, players can attempt the Legendary challenge: find Fortnite’s IO Guard locations and eliminate them.
Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
