How to Slide in Fortnite Chapter 3
In order to perform the sliding move in Chapter 3, players will need to press down on the right stick, which is the same button used to crouch in Fortnite. This is for players using a controller. If folks are using their keyboard and mouse to play Fortnite on PC, they should look at their controls to see which button they have assigned to crouch. To change the controls in Fortnite, players just need to head into their controller settings and remap to their liking.
There are some challenges in Fortnite that will require players to use the sliding mechanic, such as one available now. Players will earn 25K XP if they deal 50 damage to opponents while sliding. It won’t be easy to do this on flat land, but if players go into a slide while going downhill, they can gain momentum and use that time to aim down sights and do some damage with a weapon.
Using the right stick on a system like the Nintendo Switch to slide might be uncomfortable and awkward, so it’s recommended to change it to another button, or Fortnite players can simply get used to it as the first season of Chapter 3 goes on.
Fortnite is currently free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The mobile version of Fortnite is still currently unavailable on both the App Store and Google Play Store.
